I walk far more than people expect for someone who lives in a motorbike city. There's a park about ten minutes from my flat and I do a loop there most evenings — partly for exercise, but mostly because it's the only part of the day when nobody can reach me. I much prefer walking somewhere green to walking on the pavement; the traffic makes it stressful rather than relaxing. When I was younger I'd take the bus for two stops without thinking; now I'd rather cover that on foot and arrive slightly clearer-headed.
