Museums

I wouldn't call myself a museum person, but I probably visit two or three a year, usually when I travel — somehow I never visit the ones in my own city, which everyone says is typical. I prefer museums where you can touch and try things; endless glass cases of pottery lose me after twenty minutes, however important the pottery is. The best exhibition I've seen recently was about daily life during wartime, told through ordinary objects like ration books and letters — it made history feel like something that happened to real people rather than to dates in a textbook.
