Q: How do you usually travel around? A: Mostly on foot or by public transport, depending on the distance — I don't drive much even though I have a licence. For anything further out I'll take the metro, mainly because I can't stand sitting in traffic and doing nothing with that time. Walking is my default whenever it's under half an hour. Q: Is public transport good where you live? A: It's decent, not brilliant. The main lines run often enough that you rarely wait long, but it thins out a lot once you're outside the centre, which is inconvenient if you live further away. I've generally made peace with it, though there are definitely evenings I wish it ran later. Q: Do you prefer walking or driving? A: Walking, without much hesitation. Driving gets you there faster, obviously, but I find it strangely tiring in a way walking isn't — there's a low-level stress to being in traffic that I don't notice until it's gone. Walking also tends to be the only part of my day where I'm not looking at a screen. Q: How could transport be improved? A: Later services would be the obvious one — most of the useful lines stop far too early for anyone with an evening life. Beyond that, I think making it genuinely cheaper would change people's habits more than any awareness campaign could; people default to whatever's easiest and most affordable. Price it right and most of the argument for driving quietly disappears.
