What is this forecast based on?

We pool the questions test-takers report after sitting the exam with the topics that recur seasonally in the exam's question bank. To be plain about it: nobody has the real question list, including the sites that advertise '90% accurate'. This is a set of high-likelihood topics for practising ideas and vocabulary — not a leaked paper.

How often is the forecast right?

We have not published that number, because we do not yet have enough matched data for it to mean anything. When we do, we will publish the full comparison — including the topics we predicted wrongly and the ones that came up that we missed. Until then we publish no figure at all.

Should I memorise the model answers?

No. Examiners spot memorised answers quickly, and a memorised answer usually scores below a clumsy but genuine one. The model answers here are for ideas and vocabulary; say it again in your own words — which is why every question has a speak-it-now button attached.

When is the forecast updated?

The Speaking question bank is refreshed roughly three times a year, at the start of January, May and September. We update the forecast on those dates and keep previous sets online so you can compare.

Do I have to pay to read this?

No. Every forecast question, model answer and vocabulary list is free to read without signing in. Signing in is only needed if you want to speak an answer and get it scored.
