Describe a teacher who had an impact on you

The teacher I want to describe is Mr. Trần, who taught me English for two years in high school and is probably the single biggest reason I ended up caring about the language beyond just passing exams. He taught general English, obviously, but what he actually spent most of his time doing, unofficially, was getting us to argue about opinions in class rather than just drilling grammar, which at the time felt like a slightly indulgent use of lesson time but which I now recognise was doing something far more useful. What he did differently, compared to most teachers I'd had before him, was treat our opinions as genuinely worth engaging with rather than just correcting our sentences and moving on — if you said something lazy or half-thought-through, he'd push back on the actual idea, not just the grammar it was wrapped in, which forced you to think harder rather than just phrase things more carefully. He also had this habit of remembering odd details from things you'd said weeks earlier and bringing them back up, which made it obvious he was actually listening rather than just managing a classroom. The impact he had on me is honestly hard to overstate — he's a large part of why I ended up choosing a field that involves a lot of writing and argument, and even now, when I'm drafting something difficult, I sometimes catch myself asking what he'd say about it.
