Describe a cafe or restaurant you like

There's a small café tucked away on the fourth floor of an old apartment block near Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, no sign outside, you basically have to know it's there — a friend took me the first time about two years ago and I've been going back ever since, maybe once every couple of weeks now. It mostly serves egg coffee, which is this rich, almost custard-like drink made with whipped egg yolk and condensed milk poured over strong Vietnamese coffee — sounds odd if you haven't had it, but it's genuinely one of the best things I've tasted. I usually go with my sister, or sometimes on my own when I need somewhere quiet to read, which the place is oddly good for despite being right above a busy street. The staff know my order by now, which I have a soft spot for — there's something nice about a place recognising you without you having to say anything. I think what keeps me going back isn't really the coffee itself, although that's excellent, it's more the whole ritual of climbing those slightly wobbly stairs, sitting by the window that looks out over the old quarter rooftops, and just losing track of time for an hour. It's become a kind of reset button for me — whenever a week gets overwhelming, that's where I end up, almost without deciding to.
