Q: Do you shop online or in stores? A: Mostly online these days, if I'm honest. It's partly convenience and partly that I've got used to comparing prices before I commit to anything. I still go into stores for anything I need to try on or touch, though — shoes, mattresses, that sort of thing. Q: What was the last thing you bought? A: A pair of running shoes, actually, which I'd been putting off buying for months because my old ones had basically fallen apart. I went into an actual shop for that one, because fit matters more than price when it comes to something you're going to run in. Q: Do you plan purchases or buy on impulse? A: It depends on the size of the purchase. Anything over a certain amount, I'll research for days, read reviews, compare options — sometimes to a ridiculous degree. But small things, a coffee, a book I saw and liked, those are entirely impulse, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
