Describe a person you know who works in a family business

I'd like to describe my neighbour, Mr Tuan, who runs a bánh mì stall that his mother started in the early nineties. He took it over about ten years ago when she became too unwell to stand for long hours, and he has kept almost everything exactly as it was — the same recipe for the pâté, the same cart, even the same hand-painted sign, which is now quite faded. He starts at four in the morning and is usually sold out by ten. What interests me is that he trained as an accountant and worked in an office for several years before coming back. He says, half joking, that he earns more from the stall than he did from the qualification, but I think the real reason is that his mother's customers still come, some of them daily for thirty years, and he couldn't bring himself to end that. His own daughter helps at weekends and has made it clear she doesn't want it, and he seems entirely relaxed about that. He told me once that a family business should be an option, not an inheritance — which I thought was a very fair way to put it.
