Describe a person you know who is good at planning

The best planner I know is my former team leader at a part-time job, a woman called Linh. What made her unusual wasn't that she wrote a lot down — plenty of people do that — but that she planned backwards. She'd start from the deadline and work out what had to be true a week before, then a month before, and she'd always build in what she called slack, on the assumption that at least one thing would go wrong. It nearly always did, and she was nearly always fine. I watched her run an event for two hundred people with what looked like very little stress, and afterwards I asked how. She said the work had all been done three weeks earlier and the day itself was just execution. I'd describe myself as the opposite — I work well under pressure, which is really just a polite way of saying I leave things late — so I found her slightly intimidating at first. Since then I've copied one habit of hers: writing down the deadline before the task. It sounds trivial and it has changed how often I'm late.
