What do you usually do on holidays? Go back to my hometown, mostly, because that's where my family is and holidays here are family events more than travel opportunities. Do you prefer staying home or travelling? It depends how long the break is. Under three days I stay home, because travelling in Vietnam on a public holiday means spending most of it on a road. Longer than that and I'll go somewhere. Who do you usually spend holidays with? Family for the big ones — Tet especially, that's not really optional. Friends for the shorter breaks. What would your ideal holiday be? Somewhere I could walk everywhere, about ten days, with no fixed plan beyond the first night. I've realised the part I enjoy isn't the destination — it's not having to be anywhere at a particular time.
