Describe a piece of good news you received

The good news I want to describe arrived as a very ordinary-looking email on a Tuesday afternoon: I had been accepted into an exchange program I'd applied to months earlier and had almost given up on. I was in a coffee shop pretending to study when the notification popped up. I read the first line about five times before it sank in, then called my mother, who screamed so loudly I had to hold the phone away from my ear. It was good news on several levels. Practically, the program came with a scholarship, so it removed a financial worry my family had been quietly carrying. Personally, it was the first time something I'd worked for against long odds actually came through, which changed how I talk to myself before difficult applications. I keep a screenshot of that email in a folder called 'evidence' — for the days when I need proof that trying is worth it.
